On lists like this - we normally do the best places for fish and chips, but thought we'd do something a little different this time around.
If you've already exhausted a lot of the very best places, you might be looking for something a little bit unique and under the radar, which is why we've created an 'underrated' list.
Here are our three 'underrated' venues for fish and chips in Darlington:
Frydays
125 Salisbury Terrace, Darlington
Starting the list, Frydays is a well-established fish and chip venue, with the owners having over 25 years of experience in running it; which is plenty of time to perfect some lovely fish and chips.
And it seems like people on TripAdvisor agree, with one person branding it "the best place in town".
One satisfied customer said: "Best fish shop in town, always freshly prepared on order. Open most lunchtime for convenience. Service is quick and friendly."
Park Lane Fisheries
182 Park Lane, Darlington
Another place which has been reviewed highly on TripAdvisor is Park Lane Fisheries. However, it hasn't quite made it to the top reaches of TripAdvisor lists - mainly because only 48 people have reviewed it. But with an average score of 4.8 stars out of five, this place is doing something right.

One impressed diner said: "First-class fish and chips. I headed over while in the area volunteering for a local event in the South Park. Lovely fish, really good chips, peas, curry sauce and an immaculately clean place. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back."
Haughton Chippy
61 Haughton Green, Haughton Le Skerne, Darlington
One fish and chip shop slightly out of the town centre - but one that holds up as an underrated venue - with four starts out of five online, it's not quite broken into the top rankings of fish and chip shops but people love it all the same.
Recommending it on TripAdvisor, one person said: "Amazing Fish and chips yet again highly recommend thank you Sorry no selfie as went straight into my belly with the mushy peas."
