An investigation into the cause of a fire at a derelict social club has been launched.
Cleveland Fire Brigade have confirmed they are investigating the cause of the fire at the Engineers Social Club on Raby Road in Hartlepool at around 7:30pm yesterday (April 30).
They confirmed they deployed eight appliances from Hartlepool, Thornaby, Yarm, Stockton and Middlesbrough to the incident.
They added no one was injured in the blaze.
A spokesperson for CFB said: “Cleveland Fire Brigade were called on 30/04/2024 at 19.26 to an incident at the former Engineers Social Club on Raby Road in Hartlepool.
“Eight fire engines were in attendance from Hartlepool, Thornaby, Yarm, Stockton, and Middlesbrough. The combined aerial rescue pump (CARP) was also in attendance.
“Derelict social club well alight, no one has been injured.
“The incident has scaled down to one fire engine which is currently in attendance to dampen down the area.
“Investigations will take place to determine the cause once the incident has fully concluded.”
This comes after a large emergency service could be seen on Raby Road as fire and smoke erupted from the social club.
A Cleveland police spokesperson said: "Cleveland Police and the Fire Brigade are dealing with a large fire in Hartlepool.

"Officers were called to the scene at around 7.30pm today, 30 April 2024, at The Engineers Social Club on Raby Road.
"Although there is no threat to members of the public, officers advise that people avoid the area and nearby residents should close windows to avoid the volume of smoke entering their home.
"Police will remain on scene while the Fire Brigade deal with the fire."
