A man has died following a crash between a HGV and a car on a North East road yesterday.
Northumbria Police said the collision took place on the A68 close to Bingfield, Northumberland at around 1:20pm on Friday (April 26).
A man, 57, was pronounced dead shortly after.
Police have confirmed the man’s next of kin have been informed and they are supporting them at this time.
The incident involved a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) and a Mini Clubman.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “The two-vehicle collision occurred on the southbound carriageway at around 1.20pm and involved a Mini Clubman and a heavy goods vehicle.

“For reasons yet to be established, the vehicles collided and the driver of the Mini - a man aged 57 - was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later.
“We have informed the man's next of kin and are supporting them at this difficult time.
