On lists like this - we normally do the best five places for fish and chips, but thought we'd do something a little different.
If you've already exhausted a lot of the very best places, you might be looking for something a little different, which is why we've created an 'underrated' list.
Here is what we've come up with for the five 'underrated' venues for fish and chips in County Durham:
Davy's Fish & Chips
Beamish - The Living Museum of the North, Beamish, Stanley, DH9 0RG
Based at the popular Beamish Museum - it might not be the first place you think for getting fish and chips - but people on TripAdvisor, have been praising it - branding it "how fish and chips should be".
Like everything else at Beamish, Davy's gives a classic and historic take, and it's easy to see why people love this place.
One person who visited was excited about what they had to eat and said: "I've been to Beamish before but this was the first time at Davy's. The fish and chips were delicious and traditionally made. They reminded me an awful lot of fish and chips I had growing up, done in newspaper like my mum used to."
Beedle's Chippy
2A Oaklea Terrace, Bishop Auckland, DL14 6HH
People have branded this place "a classic chippy" and "straightforward and traditional" - sometimes you just want the simple things done perfectly.
This place definitely fits the bill.
One person who has visited the shop said on TripAdvisor: "Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, quick service and great food. I would thoroughly recommend this chippy above all in the town. It’s the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients that set it above the rest."
Sunrise Fish Bar
9-10 Clyde Terrace, Spennymoor, DL16 7SE
Another place that has been praised as having top-notch fish and chip shops - but one that might fall under the radar.
In this fish and chip shop, people have given it rave reviews - but there are not enough reviews just yet to put it into the top bracket in County Durham - thus, why it's on the underrated list.
One impressed diner said: "I have visited numerous times and the quality is top notch and consistent, cooked to your liking and freshly cooked also. The staff are so welcoming and make a fuss of my daughter every time it’s a pleasure to visit."
Bells Fish & Chips, Newton Hall
Old Pit Lane Framwellgate Moor, Durham, DH1 5RW
Bells - but not the one in Durham City that already has amazing reviews.
This one in Newton Hall is one of several Bells venues in the North East - and one that is underrated compared to some of the others.
However, like all of the Bells establishments, the company said customers can expect "proper fish and chips. Our products are sourced only from sustainable fishing grounds, with our core product - the classic fish & chip meal."

And it seems like people love them all the same, with one person saying: "Crispy batter on pure white cod, plenty of chips, and a bowl of proper mushy peas - I had a small portion as I wanted to try a pudding, I wasn't disappointed a great tasting apple and blackberry crumble with creamy custard."
Codrophenia Dalton Park
Church Street, Dalton Park Outlet, Seaham
We don't know what's better - the name or the design of this place - based on the classic film Quadrophenia, this place is decked out in all Mod design colours and posters.
But the additional bonus is that it does great fish and chips, according to those who have reviewed it.
One customer said: "Popped in with my husband and my sister today looking to have lunch. As soon as we walked in, felt the lovely atmosphere, staff were very friendly."
