Two people have been arrested after a man sustained stab injuries in an incident in the early hours of the morning.
Emergency services attended High Newham Road in Stockton just after 1am this morning following reports of a stabbing, where a man sustained injuries to his hand and back.
Police enquiries led to the identification of two suspects, aged 40 and 60, who have been arrested and remain in police custody for questioning.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "At around 1.15am on Thursday 25 April police were made aware of a man with injuries consistent with a stabbing to his hand and back.
"Enquiries led to the identification of two suspects and numerous officers were deployed to High Newham in Hardwick.
"A 40-year-old woman and a man, aged 60, were arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent and are currently in police custody for questioning."
