A County Durham development firm has been fined £1,600 for illegal waste disposal without environmental permits.
Jonathan Mann Developments Ltd, based on Delves Lane in Consett was convicted of causing unauthorised deposition of controlled waste, which included mixed construction and demolition waste, on the land at School House Farm, Kiln Pit Hill, between mid-January to late March in 2020.
The unlawful act contravened the regulations of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, according to evidence provided by The Environmental Agency.
The company's plea of guilt was acknowledged at the hearing held at Peterlee Magistrates' Court on April 23.

A hefty fine of £1666 was imposed, in addition to a £666 victim services surcharge and £1500 in costs for the fly-tip.
A court order was issued for the collected amount of £3832 to be paid by June 25.
The court took into consideration the firm’s guilty plea before settling on the length and extent of the penalty.
