A man has been charged with arson with ‘intent to endanger life’ and will appear at court today.
Nathan Docherty, 33, of Queens Avenue in Thornaby, was arrested on Tuesday (April 16) and charged with arson with intent to endanger life and assaulting an emergency worker.
This comes after a fire at a property on Queens Avenue shortly before 6pm on Tuesday.
He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Thursday (April 18).

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Nathan Docherty, of Queens Avenue, was arrested on Tuesday 16 April and subsequently charged with arson with intent to endanger life and assaulting an emergency worker.
“The 33-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today (Thursday 18 April).
“The charges relate to a fire at a property on Queens Avenue shortly before 6pm on Tuesday 16 April.”
