An air ambulance landed in Darlington's South Park today to attend a medical incident, with one person taken to hospital by road.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at about 12.30pm (Tuesday, April 9) with an air ambulance, ambulance crews and police officers converging on the scene.
The ambulance service confirmed a person was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital after being treated by a doctor and paramedics.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a medical incident today (9 April) at 12:33pm on Parkside in Darlington.
"We dispatched three ambulance crews, one clinical team leader and were supported by our colleagues at Great North Air Ambulance Service.
"One patient was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital."

A spokesperson for the Great North Air Ambulance said: "Our critical care team was activated at 12.40pm to an incident in South Park in Darlington.
"We had a doctor and paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 12.46pm.
"Our team worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service to assess and treat a patient."
