The official opening date of the highly anticipated Primark store at Teesside Park has finally been confirmed.
The retail giant announced today (April 9) will open its doors at the Stockton shopping centre on May 22.
This will be the retailer’s 194th store in the UK when it opens next month, with the chain also having stores in Darlington, Middlesbrough and Stockton.
The 37,100 sq ft store can be found in the Teesside Park shopping park, located just off the A66, will be set across two floors and customers will be able to shop the bestselling Primark products they know and love across clothing, kidswear, beauty, lifestyle and home departments.
The opening forms part of Primark’s £100m investment in UK stores this year, as it celebrates 50 years on the Great British High Street.
The retailer will also be recruiting 140 new team members for roles including retail assistants, stockroom colleagues, and P&C administrators.
Pay rates for all roles start from £12.00 per hour, following an increase introduced for 27,000 retail assistants this April.
Primark Teesside Park store manager Eddie Burns said: “I’m so excited to be bringing our latest new store to life in Teesside Park, and now I need a brilliant team to join me.
“Primark is truly a fantastic place to work – I've been with the business for over 20 years and counting. It has been great to see the excitement for the store building in the local area, and we can’t wait for customers to see what we have in store.”
The store said this represents a 9.1 per cent increase year-on-year, as Primark continues to invest in the people who are vital to its success.
