Residents of Parkfield Way in Stockton reacted with shock when they woke up this morning to find a full scale police investigation underway outside.
Pictures today have shown a number of Crime Scene Investigators analysing the scene accompanied by a large police presence.
Police went door to door around the green trying to gather information.
There was still a CSI team at the scene at lunchtime today (April 7).
One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, described how their family had not heard anything during the night.
They said: "We didn't hear or see anything overnight.
"We don't know what happened. Apparently it's really bad."
Here are some pictures from the scene:
The investigation is focused on one property which has had a window smashed in and CSI appeared to be focusing on an open window further up the property.
Strangely, a pool cue was pictured stuck in the grass outside of the flats.
