A man has appeared in court charged with sending malicious communications to a police and crime commissioner.
Michael Elwood denies sending a video to the Conservative PCC of Cleveland, Steve Turner, with the intention of causing him alarm or distress on October 27, 2022.

The 41-year-old, who represented himself at Teesside Crown Court, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was told he would be facing a trial in a year’s time.
Elwood, of Dodwell Caravan Park, Dodwell, Stafford, will return to the same court on April14 next year.
Judge Howard Crowson reminded the defendant that he was entitled to legal representation for the trial.
