A Teesside carer has set her sights on a new home, a holiday, and family fun after scooping the top prize in the National Lottery’s Set For Life draw.
Joanne Jobson, 51, from Hartlepool, can make her dream a reality after winning an “absolutely life-changing” £10,000 every month for the next 30 years.
The carer, who works with children who have disabilities, said she could not believe what she was reading after logging into her account and discovering that she had scored the top prize.
She added her mother was in such disbelief at the colossal win that she initially believed it to be a scam.
Ms Jobson said: “I’m so excited to be able to buy my own home and I have already started house hunting.
“I’ve been living with my mum trying to save for my own place but was still some way off from making that move happen - it’s amazing I can now make that dream a reality. I still can’t believe that I’ve won, it’s absolutely life-changing for me
The carer, who discovered she had hit the jackpot following a night shift, said; “I’m so excited to be able to buy my own home and I have already started house hunting.

“I remember just saying to mum ‘I think I might have won a lot of money!’ and showing her my phone.
“I came home on Saturday and was unable to sleep ahead of another night shift that evening. So by Sunday I was exhausted and I finally said to my mum that perhaps it was time to hand in my notice.”
She said many tears of joy were shed when she informed her sisters that Monday, and Ms Jobson said she feels “so lucky” for the “phenomenal” result.
“I feel so lucky that this has happened - it's just phenomenal," she added
“This win literally changes everything for me, I now have peace of mind knowing I’m financially secure until I’m 81!"
