A man has been arrested after demanding money from workers at a County Durham petrol station before fleeing the scene of the incident.
Police were called to the Esso petrol station on Kip Hill in Stanley at about 10am on Tuesday (March 12), following reports of a robbery at the garage.
Numerous police vehicles were seen at the garage following the incident, with crime scene investigators seen on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 13) at the Stanley petrol station.
Following the incident, Durham Police have confirmed details of the incident and have revealed that a 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the robbery.

A spokesperson for the police force said: "Police are investigating a robbery which took place at a petrol station in Kip Hill, Stanley, shortly before 10pm on Tuesday, March 12.
"The suspect is believed to have demanded money from the cashiers before making off with a quantity of cash.
"A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody."
