A man who suffered a fatal heart attack following a violent confrontation lost a number of teeth during the fracas, a jury heard.
Mark Davison died after suffering a heart attack at the wheel of his car in Bailey Street, in Hartlepool town centre, on May 27, 2022.
Moments earlier the 59-year-old was involved in an altercation with Mark Beaumont, 48, on the corner of Gainford Street and York Road.
Teesside Crown Court heard how Mr Davison, from Easington, was given CPR but was pronounced dead despite the desperate of efforts of medics.
A post mortem revealed that the County Durham man had an underlying heart condition and had suffered injuries to his mouth, lip, and teeth, as a result of the roadside row.
A dental expert told jurors that Mr Davison had suffered damage to his bridge which was consistent with being punched but accepted that they could have also been caused by an impact with his steering wheel.

Jurors had heard witnesses describe seeing a fight erupt outside between Beaumont and Mr Davison and went out to try and help separate them.
Mr Davison drove off from the scene but soon suffered a fatal heart attack and crashed his car.
Beaumont, of Fordyce Road, Hartlepool, denies manslaughter.
The trial continues.
