An investigation has been launched after “suspected bones” were found at a North East beach.
Northumbria Police have confirmed they have received a report of suspected bones being found on Roker Beach, near Marine Walk shortly before 12.10pm.
They have confirmed enquiries are ongoing.

This comes after a member of the public reported finding the suspected remains.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 12.10pm yesterday (Tuesday) we received a report of suspected bones being found on Roker Beach, near Marine Walk.
“Enquiries remain ongoing.”
