Jobs for a new Primark store in Teesside have become available, as the summer opening date nears.

Following months of speculation surrounding the retailer’s opening at Teesside Park as, signs touting a launch this Summer were put up on Unit 11 at the end of January.

Previously, plans concerning a two-storey extension to the rear with the installation of a mezzanine floor, new shop front, and associated plant and machinery had been submitted to the council.

The plans also include proposals for car parking to the rear and front to include public realm, landscaping and associated infrastructure works.

The retailing giant was granted permission to extend the former Mothercare unit at the Thornaby retail park ahead of its opening this year.

Plans for a pedestrianised area with a "high quality, usable urban realm" had been "tweaked" to accommodate Primark.

Catherine Furlong, Centre Director at Teesside Park, said: “It’s a really exciting time for us. There’s lots happening and we know that the Primark opening is something that our team and visitors are especially looking forward to. Not only will the store be a fantastic addition, it will also bring even more opportunities for the local community and it’s great to see just how many roles are being created.”

Off the back of the signs and plans, here are the jobs that are now available for the upcoming site:

Visual Merchandiser

  • Salary: £11.55 per hour
  • Employment Type: Permanent
  • Job type: Part-time
  • Contracted hours: 20 hours per week
  • Working pattern: Varied shifts between 6am - 3pm including mornings; afternoons; and weekends – all will be discussed at the interview

Operations Support

  • Salary: £11.91 per hour
  • Employment Type: Permanent
  • Job type: Part-time
  • Contracted hours: 30 hours per week
  • Working pattern: Varied shifts between 9am - 6pm including mornings; afternoons; evenings and weekends – all will be discussed at the interview

People & Culture Supervisor

  • Salary: £11.91 per hour
  • Employment Type: Permanent
  • Job type: Part-time
  • Contracted hours: 12 - 20 hours per week
  • Working pattern: Varied shifts between 9am - 6pm including mornings; afternoons; evenings and weekends – all will be discussed at the interview

Cash Office Retail Assistant

  • Salary: £11 per hour
  • Employment type: Permanent
  • Job type: Part-time
  • Contracted hours: 12 - 20 hours per week
  • Shift pattern: Varied shifts including mornings; afternoons; evenings and weekends – all will be discussed at the interview
