A van driver who drove off after damaging a police armed response vehicle in a McDonald’s car park has appeared in court.
Michael Fulcher, of Garden Terrace, Thornley, was driving a Ford Transit van when he collided with a marked police Volvo.
But, instead of stopping, the 31-year-old left the Peterlee fast food outlet’s forecourt and failed to report the incident.
Now the case has been heard before the town’s magistrates.
Fulcher admitted failing to stop after the accident on November 7 and failing to report it.
He also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance.
