A man has sadly died in a serious early morning collision over the weekend which saw a road closed for several hours as emergency services swarmed the area.
Yarm Road in Stockton was closed off to motorists just before 1am on Sunday (March 3) following the collision involving one car at its junction with Ashville Avenue.
Pictures show police and the ambulance service swarmed the area, closing the road to carry out "collision investigation work" at the scene where a vehicle was pictured on its side.
A man involved n the crash was said to have sustained "serious injuries" and was taken to James Cook University Hospital but tragically was later pronounced dead.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is now ongoing, and police are appealing for any witnesses with dash cam footage or information to get in touch.

Cleveland Police said: "Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and we would appeal for anyone who saw a white Mercedes AMG travelling between Yarm High Street and the location of the collision in Eaglescliffe from just before half past midnight or anyone with information or doorbell, dashcam or CCTV from along the route to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number."
