North Yorkshire's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And a couple of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

  • A66, from 8pm February 5 to 5pm March 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Blackwell, traffic signals for construction works to renew driveways with 24hr speed restriction.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next two weeks:

  • A64, from 8pm March 4 to 6am March 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, East Knapton to West Heslerton, traffic signals for construction improvement/upgrade.
  • A64, from 9pm March 4 to 5am March 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Hopgrove, traffic signals for carriageway repairs.
  • A64, from 9pm March 5 to 5am March 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Hopgrove, traffic signals for carriageway repairs.
  • A64, from 9pm March 5 to 5am March 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Hopgrove, traffic signals for carriageway repairs.
  • A64, from 8pm March 6 to 6am March 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Whitwell Duels, traffic signals for general cleaning and maintenance.
  • A64, from 9pm March 6 to 5am March 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Hopgrove, traffic signals for carriageway repairs.
  • A64, from 8pm March 7 to 6am March 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Musley Bank, slip road and lane closure for drainage works, diversion via local authority and National Highways networks.
  • A64, from 9pm March 7 to 5am March 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Ganton, traffic signals for general cleaning and maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
