A derelict North East pub which just under a year ago suffered significant damage from a fire is to be auctioned off this week with a starting price of just £9,000.
The Travellers Rest, on Mill Terrace in Shiney Row, caught fire on March 25 last year and locals could see smoke pouring from the venue from several streets away.
Multiple fire engines and police attended the scene and closed off the road whilst they battled the blaze.
Thankfully, Nobody was injured.
Despite the damage the fire caused, Agents Property Auction website is set to sell off the venue as a development opportunity on February 29 as bids start from £9,000.
Images from inside the property which has sat empty since the blaze show the extent of the fire damage as well as the exposed roof which was wholly burnt through.
Agents say: "A semi-detached two-storey property with a basement, the Travellers Rest is a former public house which has recently sustained fire damage predominantly in the roof and first floor.
"The property would suit a variety of uses subject to the correct use class including a great residential development opportunity.
"The property is situated on Mill Terrace (A182) the main road running through Houghton-le-Spring. Houghton-le-Spring is part of the City of Sunderland in the county of Tyne and Wear.
"It is situated equal distance between Durham and Sunderland."
