Snow is expected to arrive this weekend, Met Office forecasters have said.
Temperatures are set to fall with “wintry showers” arriving on Friday (March 1) and into the weekend despite the new month marking the start of meteorological spring.
Charts suggest about a centimetre of the white stuff will fall on both Friday and Saturday.
It comes as more unsettled weather is predicted as we head into March.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “The outlook for Friday to Sunday is unsettled with a mixture of sunny spells and showers or longer spells of rain which may have a wintry element, especially over high ground. It will be breezy at times and feeling cold.”
Lows of just 2C are forecast in some parts of the region on Friday.
