Sooty and Sweep paid Darlington a visit last weekend (Friday February, 23) in anticipation of The Sooty Show tour which heads to The Darlington Hippodrome this April.
Sooty and Sweep were spotted stopping by some local landmarks in Darlington.
Iconic locations such as St Cuthbert's Church and the Joseph Pease statue were visited by the two stars.
It looks like Sooty and Sweep were also trying to catch up with some other furry friends- the river Skerne otters, when they visited last weekend.
Sooty and Sweep also appear to be coffee connoisseur’s paying Babul’s Darlington a visit for some freshly roasted coffee.
Any coffee lover can’t miss Echo 3 Coffee House & Roastery in Darlington and it turns out Sooty is also a huge Star Wars fan – who would’ve guessed that?
A little wedge of cheese never goes a miss – so Sooty and Sweep popped into The Cheese and Wine Shop. However they skipped the wine as they were already so full of coffee!
Sweep also made sure to check out the sausage selection in Holly's Doggy Deli Darlington. A haggis sausage pairs perfectly with a wedge of cheese according to Sweep.
Sooty and Sweep also visited David Jackson Butchers ahead of their tour and on Sweep's suggestion, but according to the Darlington Hippodrome Sweep blinked and ruined the photo.
And finally, they stopped by Darlington Libraries for a quick read of ‘Get Fit With Your Dog’ it looks like someone is trying to burn off all of those sausages from Holly's Doggy Deli.
It seems as through the popular pair had a great morning exploring local landmarks and businesses in Darlington.

They also made sure to promote their upcoming show, handing out flyers in the centre of town and at the Darlington Hippodrome.
We hope they enjoyed their visit to Darlington (it sure looks like it!) and we will keep our fingers crossed that they might visit The Northern Echo offices the next time they are in town.
