A Darlington primary school will be closed today due to a lack of heating.
Whinfield Primary, on Augusta Close, has been unable to open on the first day back after half-term.
The school teaches around 630 pupils aged 4 to 11 years old.
The National Education Union has released advice on why heating in classrooms is so crucial.
They state that temperatures in schools should be kept up to "at least 18C".
We have contacted Whinfield Primary School for comment.
