Free Palestine protestors have gathered outside a North East arms factory this morning (Saturday, February 24) where there is a strong police presence.
The demonstration organised by the Newcastle Palestine Solidarity Campaign is outside the Raphael Factory in Scotswood Road, Newcastle.
Protestors, waving Palestinian flats and signs are calling for the closure of the factory and an "end to the genocide in Gaza".
The protests comes as nearly 30,000 Palestinians are estimated to have been killed and about 70,000 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
Israel launched the ground-offensive in retaliation to terrorist attacks committed by Hamas, which killed 1,200.

Protests have previously been held at Rafael to demand its closure.
Rafael, which is listed as Israel's third largest defence company, has a strong presence in international defence markets and links with the UK, having been selected by the British Army to provide the Trophy Active Protection System, a product designed to defeat anti-tank missiles and rockets.
