Darlington's motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

  • A1(M), from 7am December 2 2023 to 6am February 29 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M southbound, junction 58 to junction 57 hard shoulder lane closure for concrete protection for bridge strike.
  • A66, from 8pm February 5 to 5pm March 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Blackwell, traffic signals for construction works to renew driveways.

And one more closure will begin over the next two weeks:

  • A68, from 9.30am to 3pm on February 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M, junction 58 Interchange, lane closure on roundabout for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
