Three people have been arrested after police spotted "suspicious activity" and uncovered a large quantity of suspected crack cocaine, cash, and a machete in Middlesbrough.
Three arrests were made after Proactive Team officers from Cleveland Police carried out patrols in the Newport area of the town on Thursday, February 22.
A spokesperson for the force said: "After officers reportedly sighted suspicious activity at an alley gate on Faraday Street, police detained and arrested a man and woman; and recovered a large quantity of cash and a quantity of suspected crack cocaine.

"A subsequent address search led to further seizures of suspected crack cocaine, cash, phones and a machete.
"A 54-year-old man in the address was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and was bailed whilst enquiries continue.
"A 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property. Both were due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today (Friday, February 24)."
