X- Factor finalist Rebecca Ferguson has announced a UK tour for 2024, which follows on from the release of her upcoming fifth and final album ‘Heaven Part II’.
The singer, set to visit Tyne Theatre in Newcastle on Saturday, May 25, spoke to reporter Darcie Rawlings.
“I’m truly looking forward to this tour - and it probably will be my last tour,” says the soul singer and songwriter, who finished in second place in the seventh series of The X Factor
‘Heaven Part II’, was released on December, 5 2023, 12 years to the day since her debut album ‘Heaven’ was released. The album reflects Rebecca’s past seven years - exploring love, family, joy and liberation.
Discussing her journey to happiness, Rebecca says: “I love being with my kids, I’ve just found happiness – coming off X-Factor was so hectic and the last couple of years I’ve been so settled.
“Fame is an illusion - life is about the small moments with the ones you love, and that mindset’s inspired this new album.
“I’m fully emersed with being a mum – I’m appreciating the boring things like washing and decorating, I love the normality of it all.”
As Rebecca is appreciating spending more time with her family, she is retiring from the touring life and her ‘Heaven Part II’ tour will be her last.
“This isn’t the last of my music I will still be releasing new material and the fans can still see me at festivals," she says.
"Fans will still be able to see me in Newcastle, Manchester or London - just not in the same way”
Rebecca says is looking forward to visiting the North East as she always enjoys a shop along the high street, addinf: “Newcastle is always a great gig, I love coming to Newcastle the audience is always lovely.”
As well as working with some new contributors, Rebecca connected with some of the original ‘Heaven’ writers and producers in the creation of ‘Heaven Part II’.
‘Heaven’, released in 2011, sold over 130,000 copies in its first week, making it the fastest-selling debut album by a solo artist between 2007 and 2017.
