Dramatic pictures have emerged after firefighters tackled a blaze following a suspected arson last night.
Cleveland Police confirmed they received a report of a BMW vehicle fire at Junction Road in Stockton at around 11:30pm on Tuesday (February 20).
They said the vehicle is believed to have been set alight “deliberately.”
Cleveland Fire Brigade (CFB) confirmed they deployed one fire engine to the scene to tackle the blaze.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Police were called shortly after 11.30pm on Tuesday 20 February to reports of a blue BMW vehicle on fire at Junction Road in Stockton.
“The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
“If anyone has information please call Cleveland Police 101 quoting 031553.”
A CFB spokesperson confirmed they deployed two hose reel jets to put out the blaze, before standing down shortly after 12am.

They said: “Cleveland Fire Brigade were called on 20/02/2024 at 23.30pm to a vehicle fire on Junction Road, Stockton.
“One fire engine attended from Stockton. Two Hose Reel (HR) jets were used to extinguish the fire and one Breathing Apparatus (BA).
“We got the stop at 00:12am. Investigations will begin as per our usual procedure.”
