Police have begun a search for a North East man actively evading arrest who is on emergency prison recall.
Officers looking for Britton Mabrouk, 30, who has links to Newcastle and South Shields have issued an appeal to the public as they try and track him down.
Mabrouk is understood to be "evading arrest" according to the police as searches for him have already taken place across the region.
A Northumbria Police statement said: "Mabrouk, or anyone who believes they have seen him, is asked to contact police as soon as possible by using the ‘Report’ page of the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101, quoting reference: NP-20231121-0039
"Alternatively, members of the public can report information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
"In an emergency, or where a crime is taking place, always dial 999."
