An appeal has been launched after a balaclava-clad man brandished a ‘bladed article’ to a group before fleeing the scene.
Durham Police are appealing for more information after a man displayed what appeared to be a bladed article to a group on Front Street in Stanley at around 10pm on Saturday (February 17).
They confirmed the man ran off near Clifford Road Pharmacy.

The suspect is described as being a white male, aged approx. 30’s, around 5ft 10in tall, slim build wearing a balaclava and dressed in a black coat and black jogging bottoms.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: “On Saturday 17 February 2024 at around 2200hrs on Front Street, Stanley an unknown male has approached a group of people and brandished what appeared to be a bladed article, before running off near Clifford Road Pharmacy.
