A police investigation is underway after a balaclava-wearing man reportedly carrying a blade approached a group of people late on Saturday night.
The incident happened on Front Street in Stanley, County Durham, near Clifford Road Pharmacy at about 10pm.
Police said the unknown man approached a group of people brandishing what appeared to be a blade before running off.

The suspect was wearing a balaclava, but is described as white, approximately in his 30s and about 5ft10in of a tall, slim build. He was also wearing a black coat and jogging bottoms.
Officers are now appealing for information or witnesses to come forward to assist their enquiries.
