Fresh warnings have been issued to dog owners after a pooch fell 15m off a cliff yesterday which prompted a rescue effort.
Members of Redcar's Coastguard Rescue Team rushed to Huntcliff yesterday (February 17) following reports that a dog fell over the cliffside.
Upon arrival, they found that the pooch landed on a ledge 15m from the highest point.
Responders then set up a rope alongside teams from Staithe's and Whitby's coastguard, secured the rope and brought the pup to safety.
Following the rescue, the team issued fresh warnings to keep pets safe whilst walking along the cliffside.

They said: "Can we remind people the importance of keeping their dog on a lead when on the cliff top.
"Should you see anyone in trouble on or near the coast don’t hesitate the dial 999 and ask for the coastguard. You could save someone’s life."
A picture taken immediately after the rescue shows the joyful owner clutching her beloved pup and smiling at the camera.
