Fire crews have been called out numerous times in the last week to reports of deliberate fires being set by youths.
Multiple fires have reportedly been lit purposely in the Mendip Terrace area of Stanley, County Durham this week.
Neighbourhood wardens and police have said they will be monitoring the area and have warned action will be taken against anyone responsible.
Durham County Council neighbourhood wardens said: “County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service have been called out to the woodland area at Mendip Terrace in Stanley numerous times just this last week for deliberate fires set by youths.
“As a result of this, Neighbourhood Wardens along with officers from Stanley Police will be showing the area some extra attention to try and tackle the ongoing issues. We will take action towards anyone that involves themselves in this type of behaviour.
“We want the support from parents, so please speak to your children and ask them if they have been involved and warn them of the consequences of being involved in Anti-Social Behaviour.”
