We have compiled a list of three different pubs across Darlington you can run right now.
With many pubs available for sale across the North East, we have picked out three establishments available to take over.
This includes properties on Post House Wynd, Middleton Street, and Hurworth.
The Green Dragon
The pub, located on Post House Wynd, is currently up for sale for offers in excess of £525,000 and has a rent of £42,000 per annum.
The current lease for the 2,614 square ft property expires on May 2032.
The rent is subject to five yearly open market rent reviews and annual uncapped RPI
The building comprises a three-storey mid-terraced public house, and has a beer patio to the rear.
Agents gave a description of the property, they said: “The ground floor provides an entrance lobby leading into a traditional open plan trading area with single bar servery.
“Ancillary areas include a small catering kitchen and customer WC's.”
The Havelock Arms
This pub, located on The Square in Middleton Street, in Darlington, has been called a “great community local, known for its excellent retail standards and great beer.
It is available to rent annually at £14,500.
Agents have called The Havelock arms the “heart of the community with sports & horse racing being the main focus of the pub.”
They said: “The Havelock has one traditional bar with its own service area and one lounge area, perfect for more casual drinks.
“The outlet has a rear yard that has been converted into a nice outside trading area with a number of benches are there for customers to sit outside.
“The private accommodation consists of three bedrooms, a lounge, dining area, kitchen and bathroom.”
Otter & Fish
This pub, located on Strait Lane, Hurworth, near Darlington, is available for an annual rent of £29,000.
It can be found south of Darlington on the River Tees, close to its meeting point with the River Skerne.
Agents said: “There’s plenty of potential to maximise the business with over one hundred covers that currently serve as a restaurant.
“You’ll be taking the reins of a pub with a sterling reputation. Family-run since 2006, the venture will always pride itself on delicious, home-cooked food and five-star service.
