A popular award-winning bridal business has been saved after a family has stepped in to secure the future of the company.
Hundreds of brides-to-be were shocked and saddened when the owner of Victoria Robson Bridal posted on social media to clients, friends, and family that after eight years of trading, it was time to call it a day.
However, the future of the shop, based in the heart of Northallerton High Street, has been secured thanks to a ‘marriage made in Heaven’ by two local sisters.
After the post from Victoria Robson Bridal went out, previous customer, Hannah Preston, saw the social media post and decided to do something about it and save it from closure.
“It’s perfect for us, and just feels right,” said Hannah.
“I knew the business had a great reputation and many satisfied customers, so I contacted Victoria and offered to breathe new life into the business.
“It was just too good a business to see it end, and it’s a great asset to the town, people travel from far and wide to buy dresses here. Victoria has worked so hard, and we wanted the legacy to continue.
“We love to make people feel good and want to provide a luxury, yet intimate wedding dress shopping experience. We will utilise all of our retail, hair and beauty skills to do just that.”
Hannah will be running the new shop with her sister Lauren Taylor, who is excited to get started at the shop in Northallerton.
She said: "We can’t wait to start our new venture and meet all of our new brides on their journey.
"We are both excited to see what the future brings and feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity with investment from our Mum, who truly believes in us to make it a great success and build on the strong foundations the business has built.”
Victoria Ramsden, of Victoria Robson Bridal, has also highlighted how excited she is that the business will be moving forward as a family business.

"I am so proud to announce that Victoria Robson Bridal will NOT be closing - but taken over by the amazing Hannah and Lauren. I wish them all the luck in the world and can’t wait to see the changes they have planned.“
