Development of 20 homes in Willington, County Durham

20 homes with associated access, car parking, landscaping, engineering and infrastructure, are proposed for land to the east of Ashfield Drive, Durham Road, Willington.

The overall development site at land east of Ash Drive is a roughly rectangular shaped parcel of land which extends to approximately 8.1ha and comprises a single agricultural field.

The properties will be a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom dwellings. The properties will include short terraces, semi-detached and detached houses predominantly two storeys in height, with some single storey and some 2.5 storeys in height.

Holiday lodge near Edmondsley, County Durham

Plans for the construction of a holiday cottage with associated hardstanding and parking have been submitted to Durham County Council.

The application site, Humble Burn Cottage, Humbleburn Lane, lies to the northwest of the village of Edmondsley, County Durham.

The application site currently consists of a grassed area and planting/vegetation areas with timber outbuildings around the existing pond.

The roof is low pitch, utilising a standing seam style finish found in the countryside on agricultural style buildings. The design uses a stone plinth to raise the building off the ground and a veranda is provided across the existing pond, with accommodation designed to face over the pond and woodland to the immediate north.

Conversion of a pub into a house of multiple occupancy, Darlington

The Northern Echo:

Retrospective plans to convert and reconfigure a former pub to a six-bed house of multiple occupancy have been submitted to Darlington Borough Council.

The plans relate to The Albion, in 16 Yarm Road, Darlington, a two-storey, end-of-terrace property at the corner of Yarm Road and St. John’s Crescent.

The ground floor comprises a bar, kitchen, office, and toilets. The first floor comprises four rooms, enabling the pub to offer bed and breakfast.

The change of use would primarily be achieved through internal alterations, including the creation of two ground floor bedrooms and the provision of bathrooms and cooking facilities.

New fencing around popular North Yorkshire interiors store

The Northern Echo: Simply Dutch store in Leeming Bar

Plans have been submitted to North Yorkshire Council for the erection of a Paladin fence along the Bedale Road frontage of the storage yard to a quirky interiors store.

The site, Simply Dutch, at Darton House, Bedale Road, Leeming Bar, consists of a two-storey showroom with a café to the front of the site.

To the rear of the site is a storage yard which houses a number of storage containers within which stock for the retail use as a furniture showroom is housed.

A new paladin fence with a hedgerow in front adjacent the back of footway on Bedale Road will be erected to secure the site and prevent unauthorised trespass.

Listed building consent for museum doors, North Yorkshire

Listed Building Consent for manufacture and replacement of two glazed wooden four-panel doors with two accoya glazed wood four-panel door, at Thirsk Museum.

The plans are for the proposed manufacturing and installation of two entrance doors at Thirsk Museum, in14-16 Kirkgate, Thirsk.
