A County Durham man has been jailed after breaching his court order by committing vehicle and theft offences.
Shane Mather, from Crook, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court on Tuesday (February 13) morning.
The 43-year-old, of West Springs, was charged with five counts of vehicle interference and one count of theft from a motor vehicle following several car break-ins in Crook earlier this month.
He admitted the offences and was jailed for 14 weeks by magistrates.

Following sentencing, Crook Neighbourhood Inspector, Ed Turner said: “Several people were affected by Mather’s offending and I hope this result offers them some solace.
"He has been causing a significant nuisance within Crook and hopefully this sends out a clear message to the wider community that we will not tolerate it within our town.
“We will take positive action to tackle the issue.”
