One person has been taken to hospital with a head injury following a crash which closed a busy road this evening.
A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson confirmed they attended a collision on Cargo Fleet Lane, in Middlesbrough, involving a pedestrian and car shortly before 6pm today (February 14).
They confirmed a patient was treated at the scene of the incident, before being taken to hospital.
Cleveland Police confirmed the road had been closed in both directions between Homerton Road and Cobblewood.
A spokesman for North East Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 17.54h today (14 FEB) to attend a road traffic collision on Cargo Fleet Lane involving a pedestrian and a car.
“We dispatched a paramedic ambulance crew, rapid response paramedic, clinical team leader and a doctor.
“One patient was treated on scene with a head injury before being taken to hospital."
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Due to a road traffic collision Cargo Fleet Lane is closed in both directions in between Homerton Road and Cobblewood.
“Please use alternative routes until the road has been reopened.
