Renowned hypnotist and mind reader Aaron Calvert, who will be the headline act at the 2024 BUSINESSiQ Awards on Thursday, April 25 at Ramside Hall, says North East audiences are among the easiest to hypnotise.
Originally trained as a doctor, Aaron traded in his stethoscope to combine exceptional skills as a mind reader and fascinating hypnotic techniques.
From Channel 4 TV special Hello Stranger to critically acclaimed sell-out theatre shows across the UK & Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Aaron brings a fast-paced, interactive and hypnotic form of entertainment that breaks the mould of the traditional stage hypnotist.

Aaron told us: “I’m incredibly excited to return to the North East as I’ve always found audiences there to be so welcoming. Having performed in Newcastle, Durham and most recently Auckland Castle, I can’t wait for the BUSINESSiQ Awards for much of the same warm welcome.
“The North East holds such fond memories for me personally too having many a trip to Newcastle and getting married on the border in Middleton Tyas, it’s a familiar drive to the North.”
But are North East people easy subjects for him?
“Speaking super generally, I would say yes and that’s no bad thing. Everyone can be hypnotised or have their minds read. I’ve found that with audiences in the North everyone is willing to have a great night and get involved.
“I can promise everyone an incredible night that they will talk about for months, for those that get fully involved in the show you’ll experience something utterly jaw-dropping and for those going the extra mile with the hypnosis they will experience something that they will never forget.
“Throughout the night I’ll be offering opportunities for everyone to take part… and you’ll get so much more out of the evening if you do.”
