A body has been found in the search for missing man Gary Bradford, police have confirmed.
Mr Bradford, 46, was first reported missing from the Winlaton area of Gateshead on Sunday, January 28.
Extensive enquiries were carried out by Northumbria Police to locate him.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Sadly, a body was found in the Laurel Road area of Blaydon yesterday (Monday) evening.
"Formal identification is yet to take place but Gary’s next of kin have been notified and are currently being supported by specialist officers.
"This is an extremely sad conclusion to an extensive investigation.

"Officers would like to thank everyone who helped in the search for Gary by sharing appeals and providing information on possible sightings.
"Officers do not believe there to be any third party involvement and once formal identification has been completed a report will be prepared for the coroner."
