A young cyclist has suffered ‘serious’ leg breaks following a crash on a North East road yesterday.
Cleveland Police are appealing for more information following the incident which took place on the A1027 junction with The Glebe, Norton in Stockton at around 3:30pm on Monday (February 12)
A boy, 12, who had been riding a pedal bike, sustained “serious breaks” to both legs and was taken to hospital.
They confirmed the collision involved a cyclist and a black Peugeot 208.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for CCTV or dash cam footage after a collision involving a cyclist and a black Peugeot 208 in Norton.
“The incident happened around 3:30pm on Monday 12th February on the A1027 junction with The Glebe.
“A 12-year-old boy who had been on a pedal cycle suffered serious breaks to both legs and was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.
“Anyone with footage or any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 025950.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed they were called to the scene and deployed a double crewed ambulance, clinical team leader and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance.
They said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on Hanover Parade, Stockton at 3.26pm this afternoon.
"We have dispatched a double crewed ambulance, clinical team leader and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance. One patient has been taken to James Cook Hospital by road, with a doctor on board."

A spokesperson for the Great North Air Ambulance Service said: "Our critical care team was activated at 3.57pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Norton.
"We had a doctor and paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 4.03pm.
Our team worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to assess and treat a patient, and then the patient was taken to hospital by the NEAS road crew, accompanied by our team."
