A police manhunt has been launched for a North East man after he failed to show up for court.
Officers from Northumbria Police are searching for wanted Newcastle man Kajal Miah, 38, and are appealing to the public for information to locate him.
The Newcastle man is wanted after failing to appear in court.
Extensive searches to locate Miah – who is understood to be actively evading arrest – have been ongoing across the region over the last few days.
He has strong links to the Arthur’s Hill and West End areas of Newcastle.
Officers from Northumbria Police are today (February 12)) asking for the public’s help to trace him – and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

Members of the public are also reminded that harbouring a wanted fugitive is an offence and those involved could face prosecution.
Miah, or anyone who believes they have seen him, are asked to contact police as soon as possible by using the ‘Report’ tool of the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101, quoting crime number: 002277R/23
Alternatively, members of the public can report information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111 or via their website.
