A man taken to hospital after a car and a van crashed in Stockton last night(Wednesday, February 2) suffered a minor injury, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were alerted to the collision in Harrowgate Lane, in the Bishopsgarth area of the town shortly after 5.30pm.
Firefighters, several police vehicles and an ambulance arrived on the scene, and the road was closed.
Pictures showed front end damage on both vehicles and the van appeared to have collided with a wooden fence and pole.
A man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
The road was closed for a number of hours, while the scene was cleared and Stockton Council workers arrived later to carry out repairs.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said today (Thursday) : "At 5.45pm on Wednesday 7 February police were called to reports of a collision on Harrowgate Lane, Bishopgarth in Stockton.
"The collision involved two vehicles – with one of the cars reportedly hitting a lamppost.

"One man was taken to North Tees General Hospital by ambulance with a minor injury to his hand."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call to 999 at 17:34 to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision.
"We sent one ambulance to the scene and transported one male patient to North Tees Hospital for further treatment."
