The Met Office has warned of snow heading to the North East as they issued a yellow weather warning earlier this week - but when exactly will it snow today? Here's the forecast.
Snow is on the way according to Met Office forecasters as they predict a snowy afternoon heading into Friday and the weekend.
Temperatures are set to feel like -3C in some areas of the North East as snow should begin to fall from as early as 9am today (February 8).
The highest chance of snowfall peaks from 2-4pm at 90%, but remains high throughout the day and only drops to 50%.
Chilly windy gusts are also expected to blow in from the east, peaking at 28mph late this evening.
Tomorrow (Friday) the North East remains under the yellow snow warning but is set to face bursts of rain as temperatures peak at 6C.

The forecaster predicts: “Sunny start. Cloud thickening, with rain and snow into southern parts from mid-morning.
“Snow likely over modest high ground, heavy at times, but a rain and snow mix at low levels. Northern parts dry until late afternoon. Becoming windy. Maximum temperature 4 °C.”
