A man was taken to hospital after a car and a van crashed in Stockton this evening (Wednesday, February 2).
Emergency services were alerted to the collision in Harrowgate Lane, in the Bishopsgarth area of the town shortly after 5.30pm.
Firefighters, several police vehicles and an ambulance arrived on the scene, and the road was closed.
Pictures showed front end damage on both vehicles and the van appeared to have collided with a woodend fence and pole.
A man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
The road was closed for a number of hours, while the scene was cleared. Stockton Council workers arrived later to carry out repairs.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call to 999 at 17:34 to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision.
"We sent one ambulance to the scene and transported one male patient to North Tees Hospital for further treatment."
