A man has died after his car left a County Durham road and overturned in a field.
Durham Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died following the incident on the B6532 Sacriston to Durham City which took place between 8:45pm and 11:30pm on Monday (February 5).
The incident, which involved a blue Toyota Aygo, saw the road closed for several hours while emergency services attended.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died when his car left the road and overturned in a field.
“The incident, involving a blue Toyota Aygo, took place on the B6532 Sacriston to Durham City, on Monday (February 5) evening sometime between 8.45pm and 11.30pm.

“Sadly, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The road was closed for several hours while emergency services attended but has since reopened.”
The Northern Echo has contacted North East Ambulance Service for more information on the incident.
Anyone who may have seen the car in the area between those times or witnessed the incident is asked to email sciu@durham.police.uk, quoting incident reference 501 of February 5.
