A teenage boy has been named after he was charged with grievous bodily harm following a stabbing that saw emergency services swarm a high street over the weekend.
Connor Dixon, aged 18 of Hastings Way, Billingham was arrested after police converged on Norton High Street, near Boots chemist on February 3 following reports of a stabbing incident just before 8:30pm.
A 20-year-old man suffered minor wounds to his back and chest, but these are not believed to be life-threatening.
He was taken Darlington Memorial Hospital by the North East Ambulance Service.
Pictures from the scene showed a wide police cordon spanning a whole road and multiple officers stationed around it.
Police have now confirmed that the 18-year-old has been charged and appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court this morning.

Cleveland Police said: "An 18-year-old man has been charged with attempted section 18 assault (Grievous Bodily Harm) and possession of a bladed article in connection with an incident on Norton High Street at around 8:25pm on Saturday evening, 3rd February.
"He will appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court this morning."
