Following the incident, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service put the mix-up in their fire logs.
Despite noting the incident as a false alarm, which saw the alarm clock go off, the fire service didn't go into further details about what the firefighters did next.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of an alarm sounding in a residential property.
"This was found to be a false alarm, the alarm that was sounding was that of an alarm clock."
