Darlington's motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
- A1(M), from 7am December 2 2023 to 6.30am February 1 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M southbound, junction 58 to junction 57 hard shoulder lane closure for concrete protection for bridge strike.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:
- A66, from 8pm February 5 to 5pm March 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Blackwell, traffic signals for construction works to renew driveways.
- A1(M), from 10pm February 8 to 7am February 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1M northbound and southbound, junction 58 to junction5 59, diversion route and signage for Network Rail works off network.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
