Today we name seven people who were fined in court after failing to comply with community protection notices requiring them to remove waste from their gardens and yards.
Their cases were heard at Peterlee Magistrates' Court, where brought under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Magistrates were told they failed to follow the notices issued by Durham County Council, and have been fined over £4000 collectively.
Here is the list below:
- Amy Campbell and Luke Brian Ferriter, of Hartside View, Pity Me, Durham have been prosecuted for failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice about waste on their property. They have both been fined £495 each leaving a total of £990 in fines and costs to pay.
- Roy Hetherington, of Unity Terrace, New Kyo has been prosecuted for failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice about waste on their property. They now have a total of £726 in fines and costs to pay.
- Gary Bryan Lee, of Medway, Jarrow for failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice about waste on their property at Queen Street, Grange Villa. They now have a total of £726 in fines and costs to pay.
- Lauren Shirley Makel, of West Street, Grange Villa has been prosecuted for failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice about waste on their property. They now have a total of £764 in fines and costs to pay.
- Joseph Malone, of Coronation Terrace, New Kyo, Stanley, has been prosecuted for failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice about waste on their property. They now have a total of £726 in fines and costs to pay.
- Stephen Richard Williams, of Federation Terrace, Tantobie Stanley has been prosecuted for failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice in relation to waste in their property. They now have a total of £839 in fines and costs to pay.
